Approximately a third of students do not achieve a grade 4 in GCSE maths at the end of Year 11. Often the topics they struggle with are topics that they would have first been introduced to in primary school, sometimes in Key Stage 1. We will identify some of these topics, look at how they progress throughout the key stages and reflect on what the primary and FE sector can learn from each other.
